Hannah Aoyagi, Ph.D.
(she/her)
Hello! I love helping people lead more effectively and build stronger organizations. I do this through leadership workshops and coaching, as well as facilitating spaces that foster a sense of belonging while getting work done.
I’ve spent more than a decade in organizational and leadership development, both as a consultant and as a state government leader. I am a Certified Master of The Leadership Challenge® and also work with Everything DiSC Workplace®.
Visit me on Linked In to learn more about my background and thoughts on leadership!
A DiSC “Steadiness” style, I tend to be friendly and warm, even keeled, and non-judgmental. My drive is to build collaborative and trusting relationships among the teams I work with.
I spend my indoor down time reading, crafting, and doing puzzles. But if the weather is good, I’m outside walking, running, or (most likely) watching my kids play soccer and baseball.
FAQs
What’s your Ph.D. in?
Environmental health, science, and policy from University of California Irvine. I recently left a 19-year career in environmental policy and equity work with the State of Washington.
What is the origin of Aoyagi?
It’s a Japanese family name that means “blue willow.” My dad is from Japan, so I try to take my kids back to visit family every few years…and come back with a suitcase full of omiyage (gifts).
Cake or pie?
Cake. However, I embrace all desserts and the people that love them. (This question is a good way to ferret out any former professional chefs or baking enthusiasts on your team!)
